I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I haven't blogged in a while, but I've had some things happening not necessarily good things, but things nonetheless.
I made a couple of pieces for a friend of mine as a gift to his girlfriend for her birthday. After he gave them to her she broke up with him. Was it something I did??? Anyway, I told him that I would buy the pieces back from him, clean them up, give them a little good mojo & see what I could do with them. The ring has already sold.
This stone is Agua Nueva from Mexico. Mexico really does have some of the prettiest stones. It's hard to tell from the pic, but the blurry bit under the granulation was my attempt to texturize a little leaf under the "flower". Back to the drawing board on that one. I did have a little solder blow out on the bottom, but the ring got the "oops" price & the buyer is more than happy with the ring.
This is a little piece of sea glass that I bezel set. I wasn't able to get the bezel completely flush with the top of the glass, but I kinda like the "waves"; it seems appropriate somehow. I made the "buoy" bail with some twisted wire I had ordered for no particular reason & decided to use it. I'll use it again, probably for the same purpose.
I love sea glass, but it can be a bit of a pain to find a piece that even wants to get acquainted with a bezel, much less one that will let a bezel embrace it like an old friend. This is a piece of white sea glass & I cut the back out of it so the light can shine through. If you look through the sea glass you can see the beach. Well, maybe you have to use your imagination a little.
I hope y'all have a safe & fun weekend.
